How to display the settings of a network card under Solaris

This is rather long, so I'll only post the relevant information:

1. General information.

Use the ndd command for all of these information and settings.

The ndd command uses the following syntax: ndd [ -set ] driver parameter [ value ].

2. Deactivate IP Forwarding.

Use the following:

# ndd -set /dev/ip ip_forwarding 0

3. Display the IP Forwarding table.

Use the following:

# ndd /dev/ip ipv4_ire_status

4. Display the speed and duplex configuration of a network card.

Use the following:

# ndd -get /dev/hme link_mode

(Replace /dev/hme by the correct network card name, of course)

Returned Value:Means:

Use the following:

# ndd -get /dev/hme link_speed
Returned Value:Means:
010 Mbit
1100 Mbit
10001 Gbit

5. Display a list of all the Kernel parameters.


ndd -get /dev/tcp ? | less
ndd -get /dev/ip ? | less
